Bequest of Dorothy Bonin-Longare to Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha, Nebraska, 1994.

[1] In a letter of 14 June 1968, Dorothy Bonin-Longare writes, “It [the painting] was left to my husband by his grandmother, Contessa Maria Nievo, who in turn had inherited it from her grandmother. That grandmother could easily have been a contemporary of Gian-Domenico,” Joslyn Art Museum, Object File. The potential contemporary of Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo referenced above may be Maria Anna Bruschi (1776–1883).

[2] It is unclear if the painting was returned to Dorothy Bonin-Longare’s personal residence at some point before the bequest to the Museum in 1994.
