A maquette is a small preliminary model, or sketch, for a larger sculpture. They are also used by animators to bring their drawings to life and visualize how a character might look in 3D. This class will walk you through making a maquette using wood block bases, wire armature, aluminum foil, and clay. We’ll learn about gesture and universal design principles as we sculpt expressive characters in-the-round.
