Self-guided visits are for adult groups who want the freedom and flexibility to explore The Joslyn on their own, with shopping and dining options available to complete the experience. There are self-guided resources available for your visit—printed Art Cards located near the Welcome Desk in the Hawks Pavilion and the Joslyn Art Museum digital guide available on Bloomberg Connects, the free arts and culture app.</span></p>


Self-guided group visits 

<p><span data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody"><strong>Guided group visits</strong> can be scheduled Tuesdays–Sundays, 10 am–4 pm. Guided visits with our Gallery Volunteers are interactive experiences, filled with lively conversation about art on view that will engage the senses and build visual literacy skills. Groups who want a guided visit can choose from four different tour topics—How to Look at Art, Art of Our Time, The Joslyn’s Highlights, or the temporary exhibition <i>Made in the Plains</i> (Jun 7 &#8211; Sep 21, 2025). We accept 75 participants (max) for guided tours, with the understanding that the group will be divided into smaller groups to ensure a high-quality, safe tour. Larger groups should request two or more visits</span>. Shopping and dining options can complete the visit.</p>

<p>This tour gives visitors the tools and skills they need to engage with art. What should we look for when seeing a new work of art for the first time? How do artists fool our eyes or elicit a reaction? Visitors will walk away with an increased confidence in their abilities to look and talk about any work of art.</p>

<p>This guided tour will feature highlights in the <i>Made in the Plains</i> exhibition, which showcases new and recent work by twenty artists working in Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. This is a ticketed exhibition, on view from Jun 7–Sep 21, 2025; $10 per adult, free for Museum members.</p>
