Founder’s Room
Designed as a “luxurious setting for the reception of distinguished guests,” the Founder’s Room was the on-site retreat for the Museum’s founder, Sarah Joslyn, until her death in 1940. The wainscoting and ceiling designs are walnut inlaid with peroba wood; the floor is teak. A decorative fireplace features Benou Jaune marble and the three vertical stained-glass windows feature a clinging ivy motif, representative of everlasting devotion.
