Drawing inspiration from contemporary art in the galleries, this class will introduce acrylic and mixed media painting methods, such as incorporating fabric, found objects, and symbols into a composition to create surface texture and complexity. Students will explore mark making and the symbolic meaning of everyday materials while creating a finished artwork on wooden panel.
