[1] This painting was in the personal art collection of the art dealer Paul Rosenberg (1881–1959) and his wife, Marguerite Ida Rosenberg (née Loevi, 1893–1968). The Rosenbergs lived and worked in Paris until 1940 when, fleeing Nazi persecution, they moved to New York.
