[1] A sticker on the bottom of the flask reads “Cypre (Kupros) de Cesnola 1868.” This probably refers to Luigi Palma di Cesnola (1832–1904), the first director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and United States consul in Cyprus from 1865 to 1877.
