Self-guided visits for community youth groups can be scheduled during all regular Museum hours. One adult is required for every 10 children. Adult chaperones are responsible for childrens’ behavior while at The Joslyn.  
Request a self-guided visit four weeks in advance; once you receive an email confirmation from the Learning &amp; Engagement Assistant, your visit is scheduled.

Self-Guided Visits 

There are resources available for self-guided visits. Visitors can pick up six printed Art Cards in the Cafe Atrium that offer gallery activities, conversation prompts, and space for sketching and writing about works of art. We also offer a digital guide available on Bloomberg Connects, the free arts and culture app. You will find additional information on more than 50 works of art in the collection as well as tours that include American Sign Language and verbal description stops. 
For groups who are seeking art-making activities, we encourage them to participate in our free monthly programs, Art-tastic Saturdays, held 11 am to 2 pm on the first Saturday of each month, and Nights at The Joslyn, held from 5 to 8 pm on the first Thursday of each month. These programs offer a mix of drop-in and scheduled activities that relate to a theme. The all-ages activities are designed for anyone who is art curious and include art making in a studio, gallery activities, presentations, and special performances. Please note that Art Works: A Place for Curiosity, The Joslyn’s interactive space, is for general Museum visitors; groups are not permitted but individuals are invited to come back.

Community youth groups (serving ages 4-18) that are larger than twelve people must submit a Community Youth Group Visit Request Form. Group visits are free, with the exception of some temporary exhibitions for ages 13 and up. Four weeks advance notice is required.
