Surrealism is a style of art in which ideas and images are combined in a strange way, like in a dream. In this intermediate class, we’ll create dreamlike paintings using juxtaposed images morphing forms, and personal symbols. We’ll learn creative processes to unlock the subconscious mind, while exploring universal themes to guide our creations. Instruction will build upon foundational skills in rendering realistic forms as students apply those skills to imaginative subject matter.
