Colorful, handmade clay doors with various patterns, beads, and shapes are arranged on a white surface, each uniquely decorated with vibrant paint and textured designs.

Clay Canvas (Ages 6–8)

Sat Feb 28, 10AM–12PM

Saturdays: February 21, 28, March 7, 14; 10 am–noon

This class will focus on ways that clay can serve as a canvas for artistic ideas. After visits to Dripping Earth: Cannupa Hanska Luger, students will learn to shape clay using foundational techniques, such as pinching, coil-building, and constructing slabs to craft powerful objects inspired by the exhibition. We’ll create rattles, relief masks, and carve amulets to wear, while exploring form and texture.

Teaching Artist: Trudy Swanson
