Nights at the Joslyn

Thu Mar 5, 5PM–8PM

Celebrating Artists Who Are Women

Monthly Nights at The Joslyn events are evenings for art immersion. Come out for art talks, art making, special programs, and tasty food and drinks (for purchase). The Joslyn marks Women’s History Month with a look at the numerous contributions of artists who are women, in the fields of visual arts, literature, and music. Our VIP Visitors* this month will be Girls Incorporated of Omaha and Identity Preparatory Academy.

A look at the fun this month from 5–8 pm:

  • Begin at our Welcome Table in the Hawks Pavilion! Pick up a program and map for the evening. We can let you know about membership opportunities, upcoming programs, our Bloomberg Connects digital guide, and Art Card self-guide resources. We also can help with any accessibility needs.
  • Don’t miss our curator conversation in Abbott Hall** at 6 pm with Karin Campbell, Phil Willson Curator of Contemporary Art, and Cady de la Cruz, Curatorial Assistant, Native American Art.
  • Opera Omaha artists will perform in the galleries, shining a spotlight on women composers.
  • Create a work of art in the studio.
  • Slow down and sketch in the galleries.
  • Check out our Art Cart station, with opportunities to touch hands-on materials and talk about art with our friendly Gallery Volunteers.
  • The Founder’s Room is designated as a quiet space for this event.
  • Due to the generous support of Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program, Dripping Earth: Cannupa Hanska Luger exhibition tickets are free to all during Nights at The Joslyn; always free to Joslyn members.
  • Don’t forget to check out more great spaces—The Cafe offers food and drink for sale. The Shop has beautiful art items for all ages and interests. If you are part of an intergenerational group, be sure to visit Art Works: A Place for Curiosity, an interactive space with nine different art activity stations (children must be accompanied by adults).

*VIP Visitors is a special invitation program for community groups to join in the fun at our monthly events, Art-tastic Saturdays and Nights at The Joslyn.

**Assistive listening system is available for programs in Abbott Hall.

American Sign Language interpretation available by request, with three weeks notice; email abelme@joslyn.org.

Generous support provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All Program, the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, Omaha Steaks, a gift in memory of Matthew W. Gress, and a gift in loving memory of Peggy Severson.
