Public Tour: Through the Lens: American Photographs from the Carter Collection
Drop-in program; no registration required. Due to the generous support of Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program, Through the Lens: American Photographs from the Carter Collection, is free to all today; always free to Joslyn members.
Gallery Volunteers facilitate conversations about selected works in Through the Lens: American Photographs from the Carter Collection during these free public tours. Turning a lens to the nation and its people, photographers across the vast and varied United States have created an expansive visual record of places, communities, and historical events. A thematic survey of American photography from 1920 to today, this exhibition celebrates the aesthetic potential, documentary value, and social power of the medium.
Assistive listening devices are available for small group tours. With three weeks advance notice, ASL or Spanish interpretation can be requested. Visit joslyn.org to learn more about access resources; for questions, please reach out to Alexis Belme at abelme@joslyn.org.
