Making Faces

Feelings show up in all kinds of creations! Campers will visit artworks in the galleries that seem happy, silly, calm, or even angry to see how artists share emotions. In the studio, we&#8217;ll experiment with different techniques to make expressive drawings and paintings that show how we feel.

Needlework

Shibori is a traditional Japanese resist‑dyeing technique that inspired modern tie‑dye, known for its structured methods and intricate patterns. In this class, you’ll fold, twist, stitch, and clamp fabric before dipping it in indigo to reveal beautiful designs. We’ll finish by adding bold, geometric details using Shashiko embroidery, turning your work into wearable art.

Wearable Art: Shibori & Shashiko 

Mon–Fri: Jul 13–17; 1–4 pm 
Learn analog photography techniques, then display the photos they produce in a variety of cool ways! We’ll visit photographs in the galleries to gain inspiration, then back in the studio we’ll build our own pin-hole cameras and experiment with photo scanner photography and cyanotypes to create collages, dioramas, and zines that really show off our shots.

Level up your drawing skills! In this camp, you’ll build confidence through fun exercises, creative challenges, and model studies.
