Entry Atrium
Just inside the Museum’s main entrance is The Phillip G. Schrager Atrium, a soaring, light-filled space centered on the transparent first level of the 2024 Rhonda & Howard Hawks Pavilion. The floor is a custom terrazzo, light gray in tone with prominent white stone aggregate. The ceiling reaches 35 feet at its highest point and features a field of small lights that, when reflected in the terrazzo below, achieve an ethereal effect. The entire space is defined by sweeping, curved lines, including the gently sloping central steps, finished in European-sourced edge grain ash, which ascend to the second level. The Entry Atrium unites the architectural history of The Joslyn, offering stunning views of the vibrant Georgia Pink marble façades of the 1931 Joslyn Building and the 1994 Scott Pavilion.
