Description
Sheila Hicks's "Mandan Shrine" is a sculpture acquired by the Joslyn Art Museum in 2016. Made of natural linen, cotton, and synthetic fibers, the piece features bright bands of color wrapped around 24 cords. The work was created by Hicks, a Hastings, Nebraska-born artist, during her extensive 2016 survey exhibition at the museum, titled "Sheila Hicks: Materials Voices".
