Through the Lens is a ticketed exhibition. Tickets may be purchased upon arrival at the Welcome Desk; no advance reservations.

For every ticketed exhibition, The Joslyn schedules days when tickets are free to all. Through the Lens public free days:

Join us for an opening talk in Witherspoon Hall, featuring a conversation with The Joslyn’s Elise Armani, Assistant Curator of Twentieth-Century Art, and Charles Wylie, Curator of Photography at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. $15 for general public; FREE for Joslyn members; advance registration is required (includes admission to the exhibition); walk-ins accepted as space allows. Check-in begins at 5:30 pm; exhibition and cash bar open until 8 pm.

Member Preview Reception
Fri, Apr 10; 4:30–6 pm
Joslyn members are invited to preview Through the Lens before it opens to the general public. Explore the exhibition and enjoy a reception with light bites and a cash bar.

Art-tastic Saturdays & Nights at The Joslyn

Our theme is Fantastic Photography! Explore the exhibition, including a visit to the Art Cart; a stop at the photo booth; get creative in the studio; and learn about local photography clubs. On May 7, don’t miss the 6 pm curator conversation about the exhibition.

Join us for monthly gallery conversations, each focusing on a small selection of works that connect to an exhibition theme. We’ll use the slow-looking process—an approach that allows for learning and discovery through extended observation time and conversation.

Gallery Talking & Photography Walking

(for adults)

Join us for a community partnership program with The Union for Contemporary Art. Museum staff will facilitate engaging conversations in the exhibition, with time to look and reflect on your own. At The Union for Contemporary Art, the Union staff will lead us in a photography walk activity, followed by a chance to develop a print of your own. $35 for general public; $30 for Joslyn members and Union Co-Op Passholders; advance registration required (includes admission to the exhibition); very limited spaces available.

Terry Evans Artist Talk

Thu, Jul 23; 6 pm (cash bar at 5 pm)

Join us for a talk with Terry Evans, whose work is featured in the exhibition. Evans will speak about her photographic practice and then be joined in conversation by Elise Armani, Assistant Curator of Twentieth-Century Art. $10 for general public; FREE for Joslyn members; advance registration required (includes admission to the exhibition); walk-ins accepted as space allows.
