Intro to Pastel: Teens & Adults

Wed Sep 16, 10AM–12PM

Wed: Sep 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; 10 am–noon

General Public: $120; Joslyn Members: $102

Pastels are known for their vibrancy and “bloom”—the jewel-like luminosity created when light bounces off ground pigments. Students will draw still life objects from observation while learning the pioneering techniques of 19th-century artists—underpainting, blending, cross-hatching, and expressive mark-making—to build dynamic layers of color.

Teaching Artist: Darrell Riche
