Heartland Honors 9/11

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, The Joslyn joins the Omaha metro in honoring the spirit of community, service, and appreciation for first responders.

From Sep 1–11, 496 American flags will be displayed on the Museum’s Grand Lawn. The flags represent 441 first responders and 55 military members who died on September 11, according to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.

Museum visitors who attend the Sep 3 Nights at The Joslyn and Sep 5 Art-tastic Saturdays events are invited to design a wearable button that tells a story of how they serve the community through volunteering and acts of kindness.

As a thank you, The Joslyn will offer complimentary admission for first responders to the ticketed exhibition Café Society: Art and Sociability in Paris: 1855–1914, on view Sep 26, 2026–Jan 17, 2027. First responders should inquire upon arrival at the Museum’s Welcome Desk.
