Nights at The Joslyn

Create Together 

Monthly Nights at The Joslyn events are evenings for art immersion. Come out for art talks, art making, special programs, and tasty food and drinks (for purchase). We’re celebrating the joy in creative collaboration this month.  

 A look at the fun this month from 5–8 pm:    

  • Begin at our Welcome Table in the Hawks Pavilion! Pick up a program and map for the evening. We can let you know about membership opportunities, upcoming programs, our Bloomberg Connects digital guide, and Art Card self-guide resources. We also can help with any accessibility needs.    
  • Don’t miss a 6 pm conversation in Abbott Hall* with artist John Raimondi and Elise Armani, Assistant Curator of Twentieth-Century Art, about the 50th anniversary of the I-80 Bicentennial Sculpture Project in Nebraska John Raimondi is a featured speaker in the Nebraska Art Council’s Celebrating America 250 programming; this stop is one of several throughout the state. 
  • Enjoy vibrant cultural performances at 5:15 and 7 pm by youth drumming musicians that introduces audiences to the rich traditions of African drumming, rhythm, dance, and storytelling. African Immigrant Family Services’ program offers energetic performances and interactive experiences for youth participants—celebrating African cultural heritage while promoting creativity, leadership, teamwork, and community engagement. 
  • Add your own artistic flair to a collaborative city mural that will be displayed in our Discovery Gardens. with teaching artist Cassidy Coalson. 
  • Slow down and sketch in the galleries. 
  • Check out our Art Cart station, with opportunities to touch hands-on materials and talk about art with our friendly Gallery Volunteers.   
  • The Founder’s Room is designated as a quiet space for this event.  
  • Through the Lens: American Photographs from the Carter Collection, is free to all from 4–8 pm today; always free to Joslyn members.  
  • Don’t forget to check out more great spaces—The Cafe offers food and drink for sale. The Shop has beautiful art items for all ages and interests. If you are part of an intergenerational group, be sure to visit Art Works: A Place for Curiosity, an interactive space with nine different art activity stations (children must be accompanied by adults).   

*Assistive listening system is available in Abbott Hall.
