Out & About Reading Party
Free, drop-in, community partnership program.
This program will take place outdoors; please bring a blanket or chair. If there is inclement weather, this event will move inside the Museum; seating provided.
Join Omaha Public Library (OPL) on the second Thursday of the month to read with fellow book lovers from all over Omaha at a silent reading party.
In August, The Joslyn is the host site. To celebrate the end of summer, program participants can pick up a free frozen treat (while supplies last) at the check-in table, courtesy of the Joslyn Young Advocates, a membership program for the next generation of art advocates and enthusiasts.
Out & About Reading Party is a nontraditional book club. There are no assigned readings—you just read what you bring! All readers are welcome—ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books . . . it’s BYOBook. However, if you pop in or forget your book, OPL will provided some reading materials for the duration of the program.
Come settle in for an hour of silent, sustained reading. At the end of the time, attendees can socialize, or not! The Museum will be open until 8 pm.
