Postcard featuring Ed Clark’s Flash, a vivid composition of color and dynamic movement. Printed on cardstock, 4.25" x 6".

Ed Clark’s Flash highlights the bold energy and expressive movement that define his contributions to postwar abstraction. A pioneer of the shaped canvas and an innovator in using tools like the push broom to apply paint, Clark emphasized the physical act of painting as central to the work itself. In Flash, sweeping fields of color and dynamic strokes create a sense of immediacy and motion, reflecting Clark’s belief in color and gesture as powerful visual forces. As one of the most influential African American abstract artists of the twentieth century, Clark’s work continues to challenge and expand the language of abstraction.
