In Approaching Storm, James Everett Stuart evokes the tension and drama of nature’s moods as dark clouds gather over a wild landscape. His brushwork and atmospheric effects capture the charged air before rainfall, with a looming sense of foreboding amid rugged terrain. Stuart, known for his prolific depictions of Western scenes and dramatic skies, uses contrast of light and shadow and swirling forms to suggest motion and the imminence of change. This postcard invites viewers into the stirring drama of a landscape caught between calm and tempest.
